This coffee makes waves in exploring new, unique methods of processing combined with an expertly crafted roast profile we come up with in the Naomi Roasting Lab. This coffee hails from Finca Monteblanco in the Huila region of Colombia, produced by Rodrigo Sanchez Valencia. Rodrigo's farm, Finca Monteblanco, is located high along the winding mountain roads of Vereda La Tocora in the San Adolfo municipality above Picalito. Monteblanco's 18 hectares sit on the crest of a hill, with the wetmill and drying facilitiess at the top and slopes of coffee painted below. Rodrigo dedicates his craft to achieving consistency in every lot of coffee he produces. After creating a mother culture from his signature Purple Caturra coffee cherries, they introduce sugar, molasses, and concentrated melon juice. This mixture is combined with the coffee cherries to ferment for 150 hours before being dried in the sun and under canopy. We think this coffee is juicy, punchy, and perfect for anyone looking for an exceptional experimental coffee.
