Introducing our newest offering from Asikana Co-op Coffee, known as the Birbir Sololiya. This coffee is a true testament to the dedication and expertise of Mr. Bodja Gelalcha, whose family has deep roots in the West Welega Zone of Ethiopia. With a rich heritage of coffee farming spanning over two centuries, Bodja, the eldest son in a family of six, combined his passion for education and community development to create Asikana Coffee. Armed with a master's degree in developmental studies, he began Asikana in 2008, with headquarters in Addis Ababa and farm sites in Buri and Kalo, West Welega Zone. Asikana Co-op collaborates with over 1,000 farmers, providing them with extensive training to maintain top-notch coffee quality. The name "Asikana," meaning "we start from here," embodies the company's mission to uplift its community through the art of exceptional coffee cultivation. In addition to producing premium coffee, Asikana also engages in honey production, leveraging the vital role of bees in coffee plant pollination. Experience the rich flavors and heritage of Asikana Co-op Coffee, where tradition and innovation brew together.
This coffee is versatile and works well with all types of brewing processes.
